WHO WE ARE
Garge Art Studio is well known for creative monumental art and portrait sculptures. Artist G.N. Garge established this studio in 1923s. He was a self-taught artist at that time, this studio was famous for Idol making, photography and taxidermy. He was also associated with nationalist movement and many of his dioramas in Ganesh Festival which carried hidden message against existing British rule.

The rising significance of sculpture art in India has given us a thought of pervasive Indian sculptures. However, these days, we can only see ‘statues’ in public places. If those statues are monuments, then those monuments should also inspire people. If portrait sculptures are installed as monuments in a public place, then they should portray much more about that person. A respective person’s features mean not only the person but also what kind of person he is, what his contribution is, and what he is related to.
